New tools to assist Airmen

  • Published
You may have noticed several new icons on your desktop or heard some new acronyms like TMT, EMS, and OCS. Air Combat Command is delivering many new collaborative tools to our Airmen. Recently, the command introduced IGNITE ACC which focused on empowering Airmen with the capabilities to advance ACC culture into a knowledge-enabled organization.

We recognize that we need to provide additional training and assistance to our Airman to ensure we all take advantage of the tools available to us. March 15, in support of IGNITE ACC, the 82nd Communications Support Squadron, Knowledge Operations and Customer Support Function will stand up and provide oversight and program ownership of KO tools. The CSF will be responsible for premier field support, disciplined processes for KO tool implementation, ACC-wide first class KO training, and architectural stability for KO systems.

What are KO tools?
Microsoft Office SharePoint, Office Communications Suite, Task Management Tool and Evaluation Management System are prime examples of how we intend to revolutionize the way we capture and share information to improve awareness and collaboration. The 82 CSS is excited to share in a cultural change focused toward more active management of our knowledge and information--not only maintaining its security, but ensuring it remains current and viable.
