Logistics gets the job done
DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas—Staff Sgt. Joshua Hinze, 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron, uses a digital multi-meter, Jan. 10, to make sure a vehicles electrical circuits are working properly here. The squadron is responsible for home base logistics support as well as mobility support of deployed forces. The squadron provides supplies, equipment and fuel to all base units; and receives and stores more than 388,000 pieces of property, valued at over $211 million. They fulfill the base’s transportation requirements; manage and maintain 588 vehicles; operate the base taxi fleet, aircrew transportation and personal property shipments; and recall and train ready-augmentation-duty force personnel to support deployment exercises, inspections and contingencies.
