Airmen from the 7th Force Support Squadron here excelled in 2010, winning seven Air Combat Command Manpower, Personnel and Service Awards.

These awards give recognition to the best performers and installation level programs, honor their accomplishments and commitment to excellence, and improve situational awareness for everyone in the A1 community.

At the installation level, Master Sgt. Lonney Johnson was selected as Enlisted Professional Military Education Senior NCO of the Year, Tech. Sgt. Jasmine Chavez was selected as Enlisted Professional Military Education NCO of the Year and Keith Quinn was selected as Community Services Flight Specialist of the Year.

Team Dyess also won bowling program, fitness and sports program, golf program and operations program of the year.

"Winning seven awards is not an easy feat, but I'm glad higher headquarters is recognizing the efforts FSS puts forth on a daily basis to ensure Airmen and civilians are being taken care of," said Maj. Katrina Stephens, 7 FSS commander.

Mesquite Grove Golf Course held the first B-1 Bomber 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament. More than 120 players from the local community generated $13,000 in revenue. The fitness center put together the first-ever wing obstacle course involving 107 participants.

In 2010, Dyess Lanes raised $5,000 for Abilene Big Brothers Big Sisters program and hosted the West Texas Travel League, supporting 56 bowlers across seven counties.

The 7 FSS commander believes it was the recipients' hard work and dedication that led them to winning these awards.

"The fitness center is constantly searching for the best caliber equipment for Team Dyess, while Sergeant Johnson, Sergeant Chavez and Mr. Quinn are constantly going above and beyond whether it's customer service or ensuring our Airman Leadership School has the best curriculum possible," she said.

Major Stephens spoke highly of her Airmen and mentioned they make her job much easier.

"Winning these awards speaks volumes about the caliber of people we have in FSS," she said. "I'm very fortunate to command a group of people who touch so many lives."

By winning these awards at the major command level, the recipients' will compete against other personnel and programs at Air Force level.
