Rivezzo 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Airman & Family Readiness Center here has created a new class to assist active duty, reservist, civil service and dependents prepare a federal resume on USAJobs. The next class will be held Feb. 17 from 8-11 a.m. at the A&FRC. On any typical day, over 10,000 federal job openings are listed on the USAJobs website. "In the world of federal jobs, your federal resume could end up serving as your job appointment, job test and job interview all in one," said Bill Guider, a certified federal jobs search trainer at the A&FRC. "Federal resumes and the federal job search can be intimidating and overwhelming for some, but guidance and support can go a long way." The Federal Resume USAJobs class teaches people how to create a USAJobs account, search for jobs and build a federal resume. "Federal resumes are a very different animal from resumes in the private industry," said Mr. Guider. During the course of the class, tips and tricks will be taught on writing a federal resume, as well as searching for federal jobs. The class is designed to make a resume stand out among the rest by making it clear, concise and to the point. "I can help with understanding federal postings, writing federal resumes and navigating the USAJobs website," Mr. Guider said. "Government agencies are using USAJobs more and more for the posting of government job announcements, while some agencies use USAJobs exclusively."
