A dedication ceremony will be held Feb. 18 at 2 p.m. at the cantonment area here to celebrate Staff Sgt. Ray Rangel's life and commitment to the Air Force core values. The cantonment area has been renamed Ray Rangel Air Base in honor of the fallen sergeant. Sergeant Rangel lost his life more than five years ago while attempting to save three Soldiers trapped in an overturned and submerged Humvee in a canal in northern Iraq. There will be fire trucks, explosive ordinance disposal specialists, security forces and ambulance equipment on display, as well as tents and other items for the public to see what deployed life is like. Additionally, there will be a B-1 fly-over during the ceremony.
