For 50 years, the Air Force Sergeants Association has been the voice of the Air Force's enlisted force. Their mission is to speak out on behalf of all grades of Air Force active duty, Air National Guard, Air Force Reserve, retirees, veterans and family members.

AFSA works closely with elected representatives and their staff members to assist in drafting proposals for legislation on issues related to military members and their families.

Each year Congress and the Department of Defense make hundreds of decisions on issues that directly affect the lives of enlisted members; these issues include medical care, job security, education benefits and more.

"We face many challenges as members of the Air Force," said Tech. Sgt. Chad R. Kirkland, AFSA Chapter 1056 president. "The Air Force Sergeants Association ensures our benefits are protected and maintained through awareness and education."

As an AFSA member, you can also enjoy the benefit of using the AFSA's Member Service Program. The program provides discounts to auto, health and life insurance as well as discounts on vacation packages.

Currently the Dyess AFSA chapter has 565 active members and continues to climb.

"AFSA depends on membership to provide the loudest voice possible on Capitol Hill," Sergeant Kirkland said. "We can and will make a difference."

All Dyess AFSA chapter meetings are held the second Friday of each month in the Lone Star Room at the Heritage Club.
