Tops in Blue to perform May 30

DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --  A Tops in Blue performance will be held May 30 at 7 p.m. at the Abilene Civic Center. Seating will be on a first come first serve basis. Tops in Blue, is an all-active duty Air Force special unit made up of talented amateur performers selected for their entertainment abilities. Their tour encompasses more than 120 shows worldwide and includes numerous shows for deployed Airmen in the Southwest Asia area of operations. The 2011 tour, entitled "Rhythm Nation," brings to life the music of America, from the early 1900s through today. It provides a glimpse of a century of popular music and how it grew through new rhythms and technology. It features the swingin' jazz of Nat King Cole and Billie Holiday, the rock n' roll sounds of Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis and the Motown R&B of Marvin Gaye.
