What the Air National Guard can do for you Published Aug. 16, 2011 By Tech. Sgt. Topeka Blackwell Air National Guard DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Palace Chase The Palace Chase program allows active Air Force officers and enlisted members to request transfer to an Air National Guard unit. If a member has completed at least 50 percent of their original active duty contract, have no medical disqualifying problems, not on a control roster, has at least a secret security clearance and has received a 3-level in their primary Air Force specialty code, they may be eligible for the palace chase program, depending on further qualification criteria. The application is then forwarded to Headquarters Air Force Personnel Center and the process takes approximately seven to eight weeks. If the member received an active duty bonus, the member may be required to pay back a portion of the bonus. The education office can provide the member with more information if applicable. Palace Front The Palace Front program allows active Air Force officers and enlisted members to transfer from active-duty Air Force to the Air National Guard the day after separation from the Air Force, normally upon completing their date of separation. This will allow members to continue their military career without a break in service. A member must have no disqualifying medical conditions and be honorably discharged with a good reenlistment code.
