Four Polish air force officers visited here to receive two weeks of fundamental maintenance and management skills training from 317th Maintenance Officers.

The officers shadowed the production superintendent from the 317th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and 317th Maintenance Squadron and others.

While with the production superintendent, they learned how to schedule flights and see which aircraft are being fixed or scheduled to be fixed. They also learned how information was passed on through shift change.

"This visit will only strengthen our international relationship," said 1st Lt. Edwin Cruz, 317th Maintenance Operations Squadron. "We learn from them just as much as they learn from. We get to see how they do things, and take that into account and implement some of it into our own training and strategies."

The officers also followed crew chiefs and maintainers as they performed maintenance on C-130 aircraft.

"All of them were up to learning and full of questions," Cruz said. "It was a great opportunity not only for them but for me as well. I learned some things about our aircraft that I didn't know."

"We had a great time doing on-the-job training with experienced maintenance officers," said Maj. Daniel Fic, Polish air force maintenance officer. "We met good people here who were willing to assist us. This visit was very beneficial."

We also had the opportunity to fly the C-130 simulator, which was a great experience for us, Fic added. We would like to thank the group commander for giving us this opportunity.

The officers previously attended the Aircraft Maintenance Officer Course at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, for four months before coming to Dyess.
