Team Dyess eclipsed its $160,000 fundraising goal for the annual Combined Federal Campaign Nov. 10, 2011, raising $175,908.

The CFC is one of two Air Force-sponsored fundraisers servicemembers can donate to on an annual basis. The CFC catalog compiles more than 1,000 local, national and international charities, each with a unique cause. Former President John F. Kennedy issued an executive order in 1961 that established the CFC as a way for charities to solicit funds from federal employees.

"Team Dyess certainly pulled together to make this year's campaign a success by supporting hundreds of different charities tailored to each individual's unique interests," said Capt. Steven Fowler, installation CFC project manager. "This is the most money Dyess has raised since 2006 and was only the second time we have hit our fundraising goal in the past seven years."

According to Fowler, Dyess' typical donation rate is around 16 percent but this year was significantly higher than the past few years with 23 percent. He believes this is a direct result of the push to make 100 percent face-to-face contact with each squadron member.

"Dyess set the bar high for this year's campaign and, once again, went above and beyond in support of the community and the nation," Fowler added.
