Traffic signal interruptions at main gate beginning Jan. 2 Published Dec. 29, 2011 DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The Texas Department of Transportation will begin a project to upgrade the traffic signals and pedestrian accommodations at the intersection of Arnold Blvd, FM 3438, and Hartford Street (Main Gate) Jan. 2. Workers will be on-site from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Existing traffic signals will be operational for the duration of the project except for an estimated one or two days to begin on Jan. 30. During this time a four-way stop will be in place. To avoid delays and lessen traffic congestion at this intersection, Dyess personnel should arrive at work before 7:30 a.m. and make use of the Tye Gate; and approach the Main Gate from the north when practical. The project is scheduled to be completed Feb. 20. When complete, the front gate intersection will have state-of-the-art signal technology that will improve traffic flow into Dyess.
