Education Seminars, Information Fair scheduled for Feb. 24 Published Feb. 8, 2012 Airman and Family Readiness Center DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Financial readiness and resiliency are Hot issues in today's Air Force. For this reason, the Military Saves Program is presented each February to assist military families to prepare financially for their future. The purpose and intent of Military Saves is to reach 100 percent of the base population with financial education on saving, investing, budgeting, financial planning, and goal setting. This year's motto is "Set Goals, Make a Plan, Save Automatically". Military Saves Week, February 19-26, is the focal point of the Military Saves annual campaign which includes promoting savings among military members and their spouses, plus youth saves and children saves programs. Children Saves-Financial Fairy Tales will be presented February 21 at the Base Library at 10:00 a.m. A second presentation is tentatively scheduled for February 22 afternoon. The Youth Saves Scavenger Hunt, hosted by the Youth Center and the Airman and Family Readiness Center will be on February 23. February 24 will be the highlight of the entire program featuring an Information Fair and two Financial Seminars at the Heritage Club. The morning seminar will be from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and the afternoon seminar is from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The seminars will feature guest speakers from the Bank of America and the Communities of Abilene Federal Credit Union. The Information Fair will run from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is open to all base personnel. Everyone is invited to attend.
