Dyess will start a new monthly tour program Aug. 10, 2012, to allow individuals who normally do not have access to the base to view the 30 vintage aircraft on display in the Linear Air Park situated along the main entrance to the base.

"This program allows Team Dyess to share the heritage of the base with the local community and offers a glimpse into our history," said Capt. Trisha Eldredge, 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs Officer.

All aircraft inside the base's perimeter fence were active, flying aircraft that have since been decommissioned and have been a part of Dyess' flying history. The 1.5-mile walking trail will be the highlight of the tour and will also feature a windshield tour.

Tourists must make prior arrangements by following the instructions on the base's website. Visitors are prohibited from carrying any weapons or bringing pets. A list of aircraft on display can be found at www.dyess.af.mil on the bottom right side of the page under Tours.
