Draft finding of no practicable alternative for remove all facilities and equipment associated with facilities 3002 and 3003 Published Sept. 4, 2012 By 7th Civil Engineer Squadron DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- The U.S. Air Force at Dyess Air Force Base (AFB), Texas, proposes to remove all facilities and equipment associated with facilities 3002 and 3003 to include any above ground structures and equipment including all concrete pads and electrical (panels and transformers). Manholes must be installed at the site of the transformers and electrical cables spliced in order to maintain electrical service. For facility 3002 on the south end of the runway, this action will require installation of a manhole in a flood zone. In reference to the flood plain, the removal of existing transformers should not have an adverse effect on the flood plain.
