Today, we honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, by taking pause to remember the nearly 3,000 Americans who perished eleven years ago in the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. Forever, this tragedy shall serve as a reminder of the price of freedom; freedom that is still intact thanks to your commitment to service in our nation's Armed Forces. Whether serving at home or abroad, you act as guardians of freedom, justice and the American way of life. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, or unappreciated. Thank you, to each and every one of you, who puts on the uniform each day, vowing to lead lives of integrity, service and excellence. You are truly America's heroes.
