Coming off their best year since 2006, Team Dyess is trying to have another good year by raising at least $165,000 and have a wing participation goal of at least 30 percent in this year's Combined Federal Campaign.

"Last year we reached our goal of $160,000 set by the 7th Bomb Wing," said 1st Lt. Shannon Geoghagan, 7th Component Maintenance Squadron. "We raised $175,000 total with a 23 percent participation rate. To duplicate the efforts of last year we are striving for more people to donate. The wing goal is 100 percent meaningful."

The CFC is one of two Air Force-sponsored fundraisers servicemembers can donate to on an annual basis. The CFC catalog compiles more than 1,000 local, national and international charities, each with a unique cause. Former President John F. Kennedy issued an executive order in 1961 that established the CFC as a way for charities to solicit funds from federal employees.

"There are a lot of charities in the CFC booklet," said Geoghagan. "Many of these charities affect us locally as well as nationally and internationally. I encourage everyone to look at the booklet and donate. Every little bit counts."
