The U.S. Air Force implemented the new program, Virtual Personnel Center, for processing evaluations that went live on June 30. This system replaced the use of Evaluations Management System and Case Management System.

The vPC program is an electronic dashboard within the MyPers website that allows military personnel sections and commander support staffs the ability to initiate process and track evaluations through an automated system. It will not allow leadership to see where the report of their Airman is until it is assigned to them, unless a report out of the system is pulled.

Instead of the Military Personnel Section using the Computer Management System to send final reports to AFPC, now with a click of a button the reports are directly sent to AFPC for quicker processing. Just like any new program, vPC will take some time and training for everyone to get use to but is a step in the direction of a new, innovative Air Force.

"VPC is a completely new look to the evaluation routing system," said Staff Sgt. Jeremy Thompson, 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron personnel non-commissioned officer in charge. "This program seems to empower the rater with more responsibility on writing their Airman's report on time and routing it through their chain of command in a timely manner."

Senior Air Force leadership approved the implementation of this automated system to allow members the ability to manage their individual records to include evaluations, reenlistments, extensions, awards and decorations. Being able to streamline all of these processes through one dashboard will save the Air Force man-hours and allow personnel specialists more devoted time to assisting Airmen.

"This is a benefit to the Air Force because it is routing the reports faster to AFPC, which means faster availability for the customer," Thompson said.

Information that usually takes two weeks to a month to get into a person's records should now only take up to one week.

"The transition period will probably be the hardest part with this new program," said Tech. Sgt. Erica Martin, 7th Force Support Squadron force management non-commissioned officer in charge. "With this being a new system to the Air Force, it will take time for everyone to learn and master it, but we encourage everyone to visit the site and familiarize yourselves with it."

All evaluations with a close out date of July 31, 2015, or later, will be processed through vPC.

"We will continue to educate the base with resources such as hands-on training, news articles and training slides. We appreciate everyone's patience as the new program rolls out," Martin said.
