317th deployment return

DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Staff Sgt Samuel McCurley, 317th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, gets a big welcome home hug from his son after a four-month rotation to Southwest Asia, June 18. More than 300 Airmen deployed from the 317th Airlift Group and performed operations in support of Operations Enduring/Iraqi Freedom. Some members also supported operations in the Horn of Africa. 2008 - What a year to review!

DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- In the beginning of 2008, the 12th Air Force commander challenged all Airmen, new and old, to "Do Something Amazing." The message to all Americans is that a career in the Air Force promises a life of extraordinary challenges and outstanding career choices.

For Dyess personnel and their families, they have proven throughout the year that they do it on a daily basis. Whether they were at home station preparing for the Operational Readiness Inspection later in the year or downrange employing aircraft in combat, assisting in a humanitarian relief operation or bringing much-needed medical assistance to a remote village -- each person has had a positive impact around the world.
