The 3rd Annual Tye Fourth of July Fireworks Show and Military Appreciation Day takes place July 3 at Rister Park in Tye, Texas.

Games and concession stands will open at 8 p.m., with the show starting at dark. Children also can enjoy the new playground equipment that has been installed at Rister Park.

Admission to the event is free and everyone is encouraged to come early. Last year's event enjoyed a record-breaking attendance, and this year's 45-minute fireworks presentation will have even more pyrotechnics than in the past. The event is sponsored by Taylor Electric Cooperative, WesTex Connect, the Tye Chamber of Commerce, Cumulus Radio and many other generous organizations.

To find Rister Park, take the #277 exit off I-20 West, then drive south on Highway 707. For more information, contact the Tye Chamber of Commerce at (325) 695-8253.
