  • Airmen from the Ellsworth Air Force Base Honor Guard conduct a burial ceremony for a veteran during a winter storm at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, S.D., Nov. 29, 2016. The primary mission of the honor guard is to provide full military funeral honors to our veterans, retirees and active-duty personnel. In total, seven Airmen were required at the cemetery to properly conduct the full retiree ceremony, which is as a solemn act of recognition and remembrance by a grateful nation for dedicated service and sacrifices.
