The 7th Medical Group (7 MDG) comprises over 250 dedicated personnel who deliver high-quality health services to Team Dyess and its beneficiaries. These mission critical efforts directly support the Air Mobility Command’s and Air Force Global Strike Command’s mission to provide rapid global lift and strike capabilities. The 7 MDG is accredited by both The Joint Commission for its Ambulatory Healthcare and Patient-Centered Medical Home, as well as by the College of American Pathologists for excellence in laboratory standards.
The 7 MDG is structured into key leadership and operational components, to include Command Staff, Medical Readiness, Commander Support Staff, Medical Management, Group Practice Management, and supported by two squadrons:
7th Operational Medical Readiness Squadron (OMRS)
The 7 OMRS delivers comprehensive Aerospace and Operational Medical services to more than 590 aviators, as well as preventive health services to over 4K active-duty personnel. The squadron encompasses essential specialties such as Dental, Bioenvironmental, Public Health, Mental Health, Physical Therapy, Optometry, and Human Performance.
With a team of approximately 125 medical professionals across eight distinct flights, the squadron ensures compliance with occupational and environmental health standards. The squadron plays a key role in sustaining combat readiness while supporting two flying wings, enabling dominant airpower anytime, anywhere.
7th Health Care Operations Squadron (HCOS)
The 7 HCOS team, comprising approximately 110 personnel, offers comprehensive primary care to over 6.8K TRICARE enrollees through its Medical Services, which include specialties such as family medicine, pediatrics, immunizations, laboratory services, radiology, and pharmacy.
Beyond clinical care, the 7 HCOS squadron oversees key operational support functions to manage a $12.3 million annual budget, along with manpower and resource programs. The support functions comprise Education and Training, Resource Management, TRICARE Operations and Patient Administration, Information Technology, and Logistics.
