7th Security Forces Squadron

7/20/2011 - DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Dyess Air Force Base will soon begin using the Defense Biometric Identification System at the installation gates as a force protection tool. Security forces will scan identification cards in order to verify a member's status as they enter the installation.

Additionally, if persons attempt entry onto the installation using a fake or stolen ID card, security forces will detect the questionable credential and immediately detain them. Additionally, absent without leave members, individuals barred from base and persons with suspended driving privileges will be flagged in the system.

Everyone's cooperation is needed as security forces must register more than 30,000 personnel, to include active duty military, reserve, guard, retired military, civilians that work on base and family members.

Security forces will start using this security system this fall after the majority of those eligible are registered.
