Dyess Airmen and their families gathered to get an early start on the holiday spirit this year during the annual Winter Fest celebration Friday, Nov. 30 held by the 7th Force Support Squadron.

“Winter Fest is a base wide festival to celebrate the holidays,” said Abby Barlow, 7th FSS recreation assistant. “This event is appropriate for all ages with an activity for people of all abilities and interests.”

This free event for Airmen and their families offered many attractions including a showing of the film Polar Express at the base theater, a Christmas tree lighting, an 18 foot snow slide, a Ferris wheel and much more.

“This event is important for morale, base unification, family bonding and support of the Dyess and Abilene communities,” said Barlow. “It's a time for fun and to encourage the holiday spirit.”
