October calls for costumes, candy and fun festivities. Dyess personnel and their families are invited to attend the Halloween-related events happening on base. These events include the trunk-or-treat, Oct. 25, at the Balfour Beatty maintenance shop and trick-or-treat in base housing.

Trunk-or-treat attendees are encouraged to decorate their car trunks and a prize will be awarded to the best decorated trunk. Attendees are also asked to RSVP by Oct. 24 by contacting the Dyess Family Homes office at (325) 701-9276.

Trick-or-treat will take place on Oct. 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in base housing. During this time, Security Forces will be patrolling base housing for security purposes.

The 7th Bomb Wing Safety office advises all trick-or-treaters and their guardians to take the following precautions during the Halloween-related events:

- Ensure any masks or costume articles are see-through and allow children to breathe easily.
- Be mindful of dogs and other pets.
- Have children with a guardian or responsible adult at all times.
- Inspect all candy and treats before indulging.
- Carry a flashlight or glow stick while walking and/or wear reflective gear.
