The 7th Munitions Squadron recently received an explosives safety award from the Air Force.

The recognition is the third consecutive year a safety award has been given to the squadron.

"Safety is the key to our success in the ammo and weapons community. This squadron has taken care of the mission and kept their focus on safety for the last three years," said Chief Master Sgt. David Christmas, 7th MUNS superintendent.

To win the award it takes full-time job commitment and total dedication by every squadron member to ensure safety is achieved, said Maj. Jeffery Spann, 7th MUNS commander.

"This award is a tribute to their hard work and safety focus," said Chief Christmas. "I'm very proud of their accomplishments and what they contribute to the success of the Air Force every day."

The 7th MUNS commander agreed with the superintendent's statement, "The men and women of the (7th MUNS) took that responsibility to heart and is proven by this Air Force level award, which will be placed by three consecutive ACC Explosive awards. I'm proud of the mindset held by the squadron and will work hard to ensure it continues."

This is the first Air Force level safety award the 7th MUNS has received.
