DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas --

Dyess Air Force Base has launched the Dyess portion of the official U.S. Air Force Connect app for Airmen to download and receive information at a moment’s notice.

AF Connect is an Air Force-wide mobile app designed to enable, engage and empower Airmen by centralizing and increasing access to the information they need for their careers. In addition to providing headquarters-level information, local units can maintain sub-apps, accessible through the AF Connect favorites portal.

Dyess members are invited to install the AF Connect application from the Apple App Store or Google Play and add Dyess Air Force Base after clicking the favorites tab in the bottom right corner. Once favorited, users can swipe left from the AF Connect home screen to see the base’s platform. People can favorite up to 10 organizations, making it easy to get the information they need anytime, anywhere, from the palm of their hands.

Each favorite is a full-featured mobile app that resides entirely within the Air Force Connect platform. This consolidation allows Airmen to download one app, regardless of where their Air Force career takes them, instead of downloading multiple apps for different home stations or temporary duty locations.

The app offers a variety of features designed to engage Airmen and reduce reliance on traditional computers to access career and other personal resources. Some of the features include a directory, permanent change of station checklists, fitness assessment calculator, Force Support Squadron events and a news feed.

In addition to the various content available within the app, the Air Force connect team is currently beta testing mobile common access card functionality. This feature will allow Airmen to pair their device with a mobile CAC reader to access some CAC-secured sites, such as the Air Force Portal, Defense Travel System, eFinance and Virtual Personnel Center.

The AF Connect strives to connect with Airmen wherever they are using mobile technology to consolidate relevant and actionable information, foster collaboration between small groups and provide direct channels of communication for leadership.
