A civilian contractor died today at approximately 10 a.m. after experiencing a medical emergency on the installation.

The identity of the deceased will not be released for at least 24 hours after next-of-kin notification has been completed.

Dyess emergency personnel responded immediately and initiated life-saving measures. Despite their efforts, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Dyess AFB is a team and it is with our deepest sorrow that we have to announce the loss of our teammate," said Lt. Col. Sara Jones, 7th Bomb Wing deputy commander. "Our deepest thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of our team member during this incredibly difficult time."
