DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas- 1st Lieutenant Matthew Deardorff, a C-130 co-pilot, and Captain Rob Hairston, a C-130 pilot, fly back to Dyess AFB, Texas, while Staff Sergeant Ben Lopez, a C-130 engineer, maintains a constant eyes on instrument panel of the aircraft, Sept. 11. The crew has been assisting with the hurricane evacuation of south Texas since late Tuesday night. The Air Force and other military forces not only respond in support of war efforts abroad but also to threats on the home front including natural disasters.
