Day at the zoo
ABILENE, Texas— A turtle emerges from the pond water to rest on a nearby log May 15 here at the zoo. The turtle was just one of many animals that could be seen during the “Zoolute to Dyess” event. The Abilene Zoological Society hosts this event annually to celebrate members of the armed forces retired or active duty and their families. During the celebration there was a wide variety of entertainment, food, drinks, and prizes available at no cost to military, affiliates and their families.
