Summer Reading
DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas—A rattlesnake sits calmly in its cage here June 23, at the library. The rattlesnake was one of three snakes shown to children from the Child Development Center as part of a summer reading program at the library. Members from the 7th Civil Engineer Squadron brought snakes when they met the children, to teach how to identify and handle chance encounters with these animals. The summer reading program consists of informative speakers, crafts, snacks and prizes to entice children to read and learn. For more information about the base library and upcoming programs, call (325) 696-2618. (U.S. Air Force photo/ Airman 1st Class Shannon Hall)
