Dyess chief earns bronze star

DYESS AIR FORCE BASE, Texas -- Col. David Been, 7th Bomb Wing commander, presents Chief Master Sgt. Christopher May, 7th Civil Engineer Squadron, with the Bronze Star Medal Dec. 16, during a ceremony at the fire department here. Chief May served as the 732nd Expeditionary Prime Beef Squadron superintendent at Balad Air Base, Iraq. While deployed he executed 200 logistic patrol movements, 90,000 convoy man-miles and $117 million in engineering projects supporting operating locations across Iraq. He also directed the completion of 48 horizontal and vertical troop labor projects valued at over $9 million and oversaw $50 million in joint forces essential projects at 24 locations, as well as the design and construction of over 60 schools, bridges and road projects for 7 million Iraqi citizens.
