Team Dyess honors a fallen Airman
DYESS AIR FORCE, Texas –7th Security Forces Squadron members apprehend two insurgents during a mock display of deployed life Feb. 18 at the cantonment area here. A dedication ceremony was held renaming the cantonment area Ray Rangel Air Base and celebrating Staff Sgt. Ray Rangel's life and commitment to Air Force core values. Sergeant Rangel lost his life more than five years ago while attempting to save three Soldiers trapped in an overturned and submerged Humvee in a canal in northern Iraq. There were fire trucks, explosive ordinance disposal specialists, security forces and ambulance equipment on display, as well as tents and other items for the public to see what deployed life is like.
