How do I locate a person I believe is stationed at Dyess?

How do I get to Dyess?

FROM THE EAST ON I-20: Take exit 283A (US 83/US277), a left exit off the interstate. Follow this road to the Dyess Air Force Base exit (South 7th Street). Turn right onto South 7th Street and go about 1.5 miles to the intersection of South 7th and Arnold Boulevard. Turn left on Arnold Boulevard, and proceed to the right hand lane. Continue driving 1 mile and take a slight right turn following Arnold Boulevard. This will lead you to the Dyess AFB Main Gate entrance. 

FROM THE WEST ON I-20: Take exit 279 (Business I-20 toward Abilene). Follow this road to the Dyess AFB exit (FM 3438). At the end of the exit, turn right onto Arnold Boulevard and proceed in the right hand lane. Continue for about 1 mile and take a slight right turn following Arnold Boulevard. This will lead you to the Dyess AFB Main Gate entrance.

Where can I find information about the 7th Bomb Wing's history and lineage?

You can find this information at the Air Force Historical Research Agency.

Can I take photographs on the flight line?

Yes. Photography authorization within controlled areas of the flightline must be obtained from the Public Affairs office and coordinated with the 7th Security Forces Squadron and Maintenance Operations Control to satisfy security requirements.

 

My organization has a photo badge, can I use it?

No, the photo badges are outdated and no longer valid as a way to authorize flightline photography. All photo badges should be destroyed.

 

Where can I obtain a photography authorization letter?

From the Public Affairs office located in the wing headquarters building.

 

Who can get a photography authorization letter?

Letters will be issued only to those persons who hold a valid line badge.

Yes. The 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs office is more than happy to provide a speaker appropriate for your group and subject. Please give us at least 30 days notice. Contact us at (325) 696-4820 for more information.

How can I arrange a tour of Dyess Air Force Base?

Tour Request

1. Dyess Air Force Base provides two separate tours. Group and General Public tours

  • Group Tours: Requires at least 10 people and visitors must be at least 12 years of age. This tour provides visitation to different facilities on base.

  • General Public tours: Offered every second Friday of the month and require at least 5 people.


2. Tours are tailored to the needs of the group and require at least a 30 days' notice to the Public Affairs office.
