Area Defense Counsel
The area defense counsel provides free, confidential legal defense for all military members. The attorney and paralegal are independent from the wing commander and investigators. They do not report to anyone in the local chain of command. The defense attorney is a licensed attorney who is admitted to practice before the supreme courts of one or more states. The area defense counsel and the defense paralegal provide zealous representation to clients facing judicial (courts-martial), non-judicial punishment and administrative matters adversarial to a military member. Civilian Personnel
Civilian employees making a permanent change-of-station move to Dyess should make an appointment with the Civilian Personnel Office (325) 696-2393 or DSN 461-2393 for in-processing. The CPO is located at 417 Third St., Building 7233. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Air Force Personnel Center accepts internal applications through ask.afpc@randolph.af.mil. All external and general public applications should be submitted through www.usajobs.opm.gov unless specified at Direct Hire positions on the USAJobs Web site. Both Web sites have résumé writing information and instructions on how to apply for each position.

Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) Human Resources Office (HRO)

The Nonappropriated Funds (NAF) Human Resources hires for a variety of part-time and full time positions within the 7th Force Support Squadron. The HRO is located at 417 Third St., building 7233, room 107. Credit Union
Communities of Abilene Federal Credit Union, 341 Ave. C, offers a complete line of financial services to the military community, federal employees and eligible members of the Abilene community. The credit union provides the basic savings and checking accounts and loans and is a member of the Shared Branching Network. There is a branch office at 3661 N. Sixth St. The credit union offers nationwide ATM services and 24-hour loan information and account access. Online banking, IRA accounts, debit cards and money market accounts are also available. Base News
The 7th Bomb Wing Public Affairs office publishes news on the base Web site, www.dyess.af.mil. It features news and articles of interest to base people, as well as news from around the Air Force and Department of Defense. If you have a news tip, call the PA staff at 696-2863. To submit an item, visit the public affairs office at 7 Lancer Loop, e-mail it to 7bwpa@dyess.af.mil, fax it to 696-2866 or send via distribution to 7BW/PA. The Dyess commander's access channel, Channel 22, displays messages to on- and off-base cable subscribers. It provides a current listing of base activities and important notices. People can submit announcements for the channel to the Public Affairs office via e-mail. Call 696-2863 for details.

Base Taxi The base taxi is available 24 hours a day to provide official business transportation to active-duty people for Air Force scheduled appointments such as records checks, dental appointments and hospital outpatient appointments. Transportation to and from an individual's residence is not authorized. The base taxi is managed by the 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron vehicle management flight. Call 696-2265.
